Ready. Set. Range.
So, you are considering purchasing your first pistol to protect your home and family.
--OR--
You recently purchased a firearm and now you feel "safe."
I ask what have you done to actually be safe? Purchasing a firearm without training is like getting your driver's license and thinking you can drive a car. In reality, you are endangering yourself and those around you.
Proper training is smart and saves lives.
To ensure a comfortable environment, I will come to your home for this training (live-fire still to be done at the range, of course). Please call for location options which may also be available.
Safety comes in many forms when dealing with firearms.
In my classes, you will learn how to:
*Identify the components and functions of both revolvers and semiautomatic pistols
*Understand components and functions of bullets
*Understand and identify the right ammunition for your pistol
*Load and unload your gun
*Properly store your pistol when not in use
*Hold a pistol correctly
*Posture yourself when ready to shoot your gun
*Acquire a proper sight picture (the trifecta of a good shot)
*Properly press the trigger and create a successful, repeatable shot pattern
*Understand and react to ammunition malfunctions
*Understand and react to gun malfunctions
*Shoot live ammunition
*Ask questions!
During my class, you will handle a variety of pistols to get the feel for what fits in your hand and you feel most comfortable with. However, this is only a smaple of guns available to the consumer.
During your class, we will use the MANTIS 10X firing simulator which transfers your practice shots from your activity to an iPad for real-time evaluation and coaching.
Once you are comfortable and all your questions are answered, we will move to a live-fire range. Here, you will get the feel for how a gun will react in your hand with live ammunition.
The decision to own a gun of any kind is a very serious decision which should be taken very seriously. Training should be the first step you take, preferably BEFORE you buy your first gun.
I can help!
Why Train?
According to rand.org, 61% of New-Owners received formal firearm training in 2015
(when new-owners was only ~1.2 million).
39% equals 468,000 UNTRAINED New-Owners in America
In contrast, in 2020 the Associated Press reported New-Owner gun sales in America surged to roughly 8.5 million, up from ~2 million, just one year before.
39% equals 3,315,000 UNTRAINED New-Owners in America in 2020 alone

Without training, who is unsafe? New-Owner? Their family members? Their Neighbors? You? Your family?
